What it is
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed self-assessment certification scheme, covering the essential actions your business or organisation should take to protect itself from cyber-attacks.
There are 2 Cyber Essentials Certifications:
- Cyber Essentials Self Assessment
- Cyber Essentials Plus
The main difference between these 2 options is that Cyber Essentials PLUS undergoes a technical audit confirming sufficient implementation of the Cyber Essentials standard.
How it works
Once you have completed the Self-Assessment question set, a qualified assessor verifies the information provided against the five basic security controls.
Although the certification process has been designed to be lightweight and easy to follow, some of the questions can be difficult to understand.
We provide a consultancy service to not only help you understand and pass the initial assessment stage, but also help ensure your security posture meets standards for that certified year.
There are many advantages to becoming Cyber Essentials certified. Not only can you reduce cybersecurity risks by up to 80%, it’s a great way to demonstrate your commitment to cybersecurity to new customers and partners.
Cyber Essentials has also become mandatory for a lot of government contracts to ensure their suppliers are meeting a basic standard of security.
Certification gives you peace of mind that your defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber-attacks.
