What is a Security Audit?

Establishing a defined set of requirements for IT Security ensures a strong foundation on which an effective governance programme can be built. IT Security Audits are designed to help customers understand their current IT security maturity. As part of the assessment, Omni reviews a number of areas within a business and look to evaluate the associated risks. Our methodology covers the complete range — people, process and technology controls that effective security management requires. Where required, we can assess against compliance standards and security frameworks.

One of the first steps that organisations need to undertake is to establish what current security technologies and practices are in place, and how they are managed. OmniCyber Security help customers by performing a Gap Analysis, identifying all existing security controls and comparing them against a target framework (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SANS, CESG etc.) that most readily suits the strategic need of the business.

Whether our customers are preparing for accreditation against a specific standard, are aiming to be compliant to a particular framework or simply looking to establish a strong security posture, a Gap Analysis is the basis for meeting the requirements. OmniCyber Security provide comprehensive reports detailing our findings with recommendations for next steps and specific guidance where relevant. We offer management reporting for executive review in conjunction with technical reports for those staff that will be responsible for implementing any findings.
